Drafting support for firms in Dubai

CAD drafting outsourcing

Drafting workload rarely arrives evenly. A tender lands with a two-week deadline, three projects reach construction drawings at once, a client asks for as-builts on a building you finished last year, or your only drafter is on leave. Hiring for a peak takes time and leaves you with spare capacity once it passes. Pushing the work through an overloaded team usually shows in the drawings.

We provide outsourced CAD drafting in AutoCAD for architects, engineering consultants, MEP and fit-out contractors and developers in Dubai. You send the work, we draft it to your standards and deadlines, and the drawings come back ready to go into your project files under your title block. Because our team also handles design, engineering and authority approvals, we understand what the drawings are for, not just how to draw them.

When outsourcing drafting makes sense

Outsourcing works best when the design decisions stay with you and the drawing production can be handed over. Typical situations include:

  • Tender and submission deadlines where the design is fixed but the drawing volume is high
  • Workload peaks when several projects need drawings at the same time
  • Specialist sheets your team produces rarely, such as reinforcement detailing, bar bending schedules or coordinated services sections
  • Backlogs of as-built drawings, record updates or old drawings that need converting from PDF to CAD
  • Shop drawings for subcontract packages where the contractor lacks drafting staff
  • Short projects where recruiting a drafter isn't worth it

It is less suitable where the brief is still changing daily or the drafter needs to sit in design meetings every morning. In those cases, we suggest a defined scope with agreed review points instead.

Ways to work with us

Single project

You send a defined package, such as a set of floor plans, an MEP layout package or a run of shop drawings, with a sheet list and a deadline. We quote for the package, draft it, check it and deliver it. This is the easiest way to start.

Peak-load support

For a period of weeks, we take on drafting across one or more of your projects as work comes in. We agree a point of contact on each side, the type of work, how requests are sent and the expected response time for each kind of task.

Ongoing drafting support

For firms with a steady flow of drafting, we act as an extension of your team over a longer period. Standards, templates and communication routines are set up once, so each new request starts quickly. Terms such as rates, volumes and turnaround are agreed in writing.

In every case, the written scope states what is included, the delivery dates, the number of revision rounds and how additional work is priced.

How a first outsourced job runs

01

Introduction call or message

You tell us the type of work, the volume and the deadline. We confirm whether it suits outsourcing and what we need.

02

Standards and a sample

You send your templates and standards, plus one typical drawing as a reference for presentation.

03

Defined first package

We agree a small, clearly defined package with a sheet list and a delivery date.

04

Drafting and internal check

The package is drafted to your standard and checked before return.

05

Your review

Your team reviews it closely and marks anything that doesn't match your expectations or standard.

06

Corrections recorded

We correct the package and record your comments in a standards note for future jobs.

07

Next packages

Later work starts from the agreed standard, so the review on your side becomes lighter with each job.

What stays with your team

Outsourcing the drafting doesn't mean handing over the project. Your team keeps:

  • Design decisions. We draw the design you give us and raise questions; we don't change it without your approval.
  • Client contact. We work behind your firm; drawings are issued under your title block and your name.
  • Engineering responsibility, where your engineer is the designer. If you would like our engineers to take on design work, that is agreed separately in the scope.
  • Final issue. You decide when drawings are issued to the client, consultant or authority.

Working to your CAD standards

Drawings that need reworking to match your office standard aren't saving you any time. Before the first job, we ask for:

  • Your drawing templates and title blocks
  • Layer naming, colours, line weights and plot styles
  • Text and dimension styles
  • Block libraries for doors, windows, fittings and symbols
  • Sheet numbering and file naming conventions
  • How you structure external references and layouts

The first job is used to align with your standard. You review it closely, we record any corrections, and the same standard is then applied to every job after it. If you don't have a formal standard, we work to a consistent one of our own and document it so your team can follow it too.

Communication, files and confidentiality

One point of contact. You deal with the same person for each project, who knows the job and the history of its revisions.

Query lists, not guesses. When information is missing or two drawings disagree, we send a short query list rather than inventing an answer. Questions are batched so they don't interrupt your team constantly.

Progress you can see. On larger packages, we send a short update at agreed points: what has been drafted, what is waiting on information and whether the delivery date is still on track. If a query is holding up a sheet, you hear about it while there is still time to answer, not on the delivery day.

File exchange. Files are exchanged by email, WhatsApp for quick items, or a shared folder or download link for larger sets. We follow your version control, so the latest issue is always clear.

Confidentiality. Project drawings and client information are used only for your job and are not shared with others. Tell us at the start if your firm has specific requirements for how drawings are stored or exchanged.

How we keep quality consistent

  • Every set is checked by a second person before it is returned
  • Checks cover dimensions, cross-references between sheets, layers, line weights, text and the title block
  • Revisions are clouded and recorded in the revision table
  • Corrections you send back are logged and applied to later jobs, so the same comment doesn't recur
  • Files are purged and audited before issue so they open cleanly in your system

Disciplines we cover

Outsourced work can include any of our drafting services:

Where a job needs engineering input, our engineers can provide the design, or we draft to your engineer's design. And where drawings are heading for a permit or NOC, our team can prepare and submit the approval package if you want to hand that over too.

What affects cost

  • Volume. A steady flow of work can be priced differently from a one-off package.
  • Complexity. Detailed construction drawings and coordination take longer than general arrangement drawings.
  • Turnaround. Urgent work outside an agreed schedule affects the price.
  • Standards set-up. Aligning with a detailed office standard takes some time on the first job.
  • Revisions. The number of revision rounds included.

We quote per package for single projects and agree rates in writing for ongoing support, so you know the cost of each piece of work before it starts.

If your drafter is new to Dubai submissions, share our notes on how to set up drawings for each authority.
